it is functional by definition. I have never seen a skirt that was not functional to some extent, so I have to disagree with you because your statement is false on its face. As for "Why put them on a race car?", the entire point of skirts is race-oriented. The question highlights just how out-of-control this hatred for "rice" has become. Even the most functional things are hated just because of their looks. For example, this guy talks about how he'd like to knock the wing of a race car, so it would look better. Isn't that the essense of the rice concept -- giving up performance so you can have the look you want. Anti-rice is so out of control it has itself become rice.
